Why is 4G important and why not just use a 3G GPS Tracker?

All of our trackers are completely silent, except for our OBD device which contains a speaker for notifications.  All of the audio notifications can be disabled.

All of our 4G Tracking devices contain LED lights for status and power information.  The lights on our asset trackers will turn off shortly after startup.  Some of our devices can be commanded to disable their LED lights.

Our hard-wired 4G GPS tracking devices are designed for stealth and are typically installed behind vehicle trim.

How much data does each 4G GPS Tracker use?
Our devices are designed to be power and data efficient.  They often sleep when not in use, wake up from vibrations, and only send the occasional status packet to keep their connection with the server alive.

Whilst moving they will transmit a location packet every 10-180 seconds.  They will also transmit alarm packets such as vibrations, speeding and voltage changes.  Most of these packets are between 50-100 Bytes on average, therefore driving a solid 8 hours per day, every day, with 6 packets per minute would consume approximately 10MB/month. * Actual usage may vary.

How many SMS messages will i need each month?
Once initially configured, the device will mainly consume data.  You will receive SMS messages from the device in reply to any SMS commands you send to the tracking device.  You will also receive SMS message from the tracking device if you have any alarms configured, such as tamper, SOS, low battery etc.  However, SMS alerts can be disabled.  Note: Alerts will still be available within the platform or email.
