CT-A03 Quick Reference: Working Modes, Power and LED Indicators

The CT-A03 is a rechargeable, magnetic-mount 4G asset tracker. This quick reference covers the three things people ask us about most in the first week: which working mode the tracker is in, how to turn it on and off, and what the three status lights mean. It follows the CT-A03 User Guide v1.0.
Working modes
The CT-A03 offers three working modes so you can balance real-time visibility against battery life and data usage.
Mode 1 — Regular (Timed) GPS mode
Network services stay on at all times and the tracker uploads its location at a fixed interval, whether or not it is moving. This is the simplest and most predictable mode, but it has no motion intelligence — expect the highest data usage and a steady battery drain.
Mode 2 — Intelligent (Tracking) mode — factory default
The built-in G-sensor detects motion, and the tracker switches its positioning source and upload interval to match. While moving, it reports at the shorter interval (T1); when static, it goes quiet or reports at the longer interval (T2). This gives the best balance of tracking detail and battery life, and it is the mode your CT-A03 ships in.
Mode 3 — Power-Saving mode
The tracker sleeps entirely, waking only at the scheduled time and reporting once every T2 hours. This delivers the longest battery life, but there is no real-time tracking between reports.

Power on / off
| Action | How to |

| Power on | Hold the power button for about 3 seconds. Alternatively, connect a charger — the tracker starts automatically if the auto-start setting (AUTOSTART) is enabled. |
| Power off | Hold the power button for 3–4 seconds, then release. The tracker shuts down fully within 5–10 seconds. |
| Verify it’s off | Tap the power button once. If the tracker is truly off, it will not wake and no LEDs will flash. |
LED indicators
ℹ️ To stay out of sight and save power, all LEDs switch off about 2–3 minutes after power-on. Dark lights on a running tracker are normal. Short-press the power button at any time to light them up again for a status check.
Green — cellular network (GSM/LTE)

Blue — GPS/GNSS positioning

⚠️ If the green light keeps fast-flashing after a few minutes outdoors, the tracker has not found the network — check the SIM is active and you are in 4G coverage. If the blue light keeps fast-flashing, move the tracker to open sky so it can get a first fix.
