Straight answers first
Do I need an auto electrician?
Not for a battery-powered asset tracker or a plug-in OBD tracker — neither needs any wiring. A hardwired tracker is just two wires behind the dash, a quick job for an auto electrician, and that’s who we recommend fits it.
What if someone finds the tracker?
A hardwired tracker alerts you if the power is cut and keeps reporting on its backup battery, and a plug-in tracker alerts you if it's pulled from the port. Whatever happens to the tracker, every position it has already sent stays on the platform, so you still have the trail.
Can I watch the ute and the trailer in one place?
Yes — every tracker reports to the same Australian-hosted platform. One login, one live map, and geofence alerts for each of them.
Will it work out on the job site?
Your tracker uses the network coverage provided by Telstra and Optus, Australia's two largest mobile networks. If one network isn't available where your vehicle or asset is, the tracker can connect on the other. Two networks instead of one removes a single point of failure, but no mobile network covers all of Australia, and reception in any given spot depends on terrain, buildings and distance to the nearest tower.
